Drinking this drink increases the risk of diabetes
When we talk about regulating our daily consumption of sugar , we believe that by lowering the usual amount we solve the problem, for example, if you drank a liter of soda, lower it to one can a day; the reality is that consuming 355 ml . of soda, we are increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes by 22% .
According to the Center for Biomedical Research on Obesity and Nutrition , the relationship between the consumption of sugary soft drinks and the risk of prediabetes is increasing.
Those who consume at least one can of soda per day (not including diet or light sodas) have that 46% risk, which in a period of approximately 14 years, becomes a chronic disease.
As for fruit juice or nectar , there were no cases of a higher incidence of diabetes among its consumers, but it is important that you distinguish between natural and processed juices; since the seconds between preservatives and added sugars, are bad.
What can we do?
The increase in the consumption of sweetened beverages generates another problem associated with the risk of prediabetes, since it increases insulin resistance in our body and this triggers type 2 diabetes in the future .
If we don't improve our lifestyle, people who have already been diagnosed with prediabetes are actually on the path to the disease of diabetes for life.
