Sitting down causes depression

How much time do you spend sitting at a desk or in front of the computer? Researchers from the Universities of Victoria and Queensland   suggest that this habit can trigger symptoms of depression in men and women.

The study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine details that the longer a person sits, the more likely they are to feel depressed .

For the study, the cases of 8,950 women were analyzed. Those who spent more than seven hours a day sitting had a 47% increased risk of symptoms of depression , compared to those who spent four hours or less without physical activity.

Sedentarism impacts your physical and mental health!

For their part, women who did not perform any type of physical activity had a 99% greater risk of suffering from depression .

Furthermore, another study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology suggests that men who spend more than six hours sitting down are 18% more likely to die.

One way to combat sadness or anxiety and activate endorphins in the body is to do some activity that allows you to move for a few minutes a day.

Remember that the practice of exercise will help you get away from mental illnesses such as depression, as well as colon cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
