Competition is strong among professionals from all industries, which is why the skills of each candidate are essential and can be decisive in choosing one or the other when it comes to occupying a position or a promotion.

In Mexico there are around 52.9 million economically active people; that is, they have some type of job -either formal or informal- according to data from the National Institute of Geography and Statistics (INEGI).

Last year, the Labor Observatory, the free public information service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), highlighted four hard and four soft skills to succeed in the labor market. Fluency in languages, creativity, teamwork and honesty were some of them.

During this 2019, the LinkedIn labor platform points out 30 hard and soft skills required for the successful professional.

The first constitute those that are verifiable through certificates and that you can develop through academic merits at different levels and the second are added through interpersonal relationships and are behaviors, attitudes and values.

The five soft skills concern teamwork, but they are also an indicator that skills must be developed to stand out from the rest through creativity.
